And so it begins....

All my life I have written diaries, journaled my thoughts, and aired my laundry (clean and dirty). It started as a kid when my Mum bought me my first paper diary in the 70's and told me to write about what I get up to. Little did I know it was so she could sneaky peak into it and keep an eye on my many shenanigans, great work Mum, hahaha! As time went on I was in high school in the 80's and it became more a journal in exercise books which were 'cooler' and fit all the magazine cut-outs of my teen idols and favourite singers, supermodels, and actors.

Then for many years, my dark years, life got so bad that I dare not write, I could hardly get out of bed let alone want to think about what was going on in my head.

Life progressed, things changed, I certainly changed, the grey cloud shifted. One day Facebook was introduced to me and from the very first moment I was absolutely hooked. Before I knew it, I realised I was using it as my diary. As you know, facebook is someone elses property and it is up to them if they want to change it, censor it, edit it, and even shut the whole ship down, so it is an unreliable platform for me to trust as a vault of all my collective thoughts, photos, adventures, and experiences.

I have been told many times that I should start a blog. To all the people who suggested it over the years, here I finally am.

Why now? You ask. Well, I am about to start what I believe will be the biggest and best adventure of my life and I want to record it in more detail than any social media really has capacity for. I have had so many poignant milestones in my life that were not really recorded and I want this to be the first one. Not just for me to reflect back on but also so other people can either relate to my experience or just open their mind to the journey of others. If it ends up that it is just me floating around in here that is fine too, to be honest the original purpose of this was something just for me but seeing as I am someone who loves to share my thoughts I thought I would do both.

As this is a first post, and you might want to know what could be in store, here are a few things that I know I will get around to talking about whether it is now or in the future: ADD, Animal Welfare, running a Charity, Ballet, Weight loss surgery, Plastic surgery, Peri-Menopause, Ageing, Despair, Happiness, Religion, Politics, Environment, Gardening, Clothes Op shopping adventures, Holidays and Road trips, Marriage, Friendships, Family, Pets, Train rides, and likely so much more as it just randomly comes to mind.

What wont I be talking about? Work. Sex. Cats.

Whatever, of course I will be talking about cats!!!! LOTS! hahahaha

I am really looking forward to having this journal, it should be a fun adventure. It will be great to look back over the years and have a collection of things to reflect on to see what got me to where I end up at. Who knows where life may take me. Tomorrow could be my last day, or I could live to 100 (which would take me to 2073, what a thought!).

Have a seat, let's chat.

This is great, can't wait to follow your journey. I find blogs and connecting with others fascinating. I admire your humour, zest for life and you have a way with words so I'm hooked. Don't ever stop writing! Journaling is such a powerful tool x
